Congruent Triangles

It seems that my duaghter has grown up so much recently. She is now learning Geometry (this is really taxing my brain). I barely remember Geometry and am having to do a lot of studying 🙂 I can’t believe she is going to be 12 this year.

FYI, registering on the blog site simply allows you to leave a comment.  From what I can tell, it doesn’t do anything else.

Jonathan’s Meds

I have probably mentioned this before, but wanted to say again how much of a blessing Medicaid has been to us. I am only starting to see how much it has helped us financially. Jonathan is on what feels like quite a few meds and some of them are very expensive. All of which, is now paid for by Medicaid.
Jonathan’s current meds are:
Tranxene – seizure med (2 per day)
Topomax – seizure med (5 per day)(cash price is $600/month)
Prevacid – reflux med (2 per day)
Cortisol – stress hormone replacement (2 per day)

Jonathan’s Endocrinologist appt

Jonathan went to the endocrinologist last week and we have gotten the results back from his blood work. Apparently, Jonathan’s pituitary gland is doing about all it can. In the last few months, Jonathan has gained weight, but his thyroid hormone level has gone down. It looks like more than likely he will have to begin taking thryoid hormone sometime this year. He’s already on hydrocortisone (cortisol-stress hormone produced by our adrenal gland) because his body doesn’t produce enough. Thankfully, these are things that can be given by mouth. There are some things (like growth hormone and testosterone) that would have to be given by injection. However, the latter two do not affect his overall health and so we are opting not to treat those deficiencys.
